The musings of a queer seeker.
Jesus I would have given up faith a long time ago were it not for the stories of Jesus.
When everything is hunky dory, there are lots of things that sustain faith. When things aren't so rosy, sometimes it's just the presence of friends whose faith is stronger at that point. And even the presence of friends who may also be having their doubts. Having someone else to share the darkness makes it not as dark.
Ultimately, I believe that God Himself keeps me believing in Him, as I believe that faith is a gift of God. Aside from that I'd say that it's the consistency of the Bible (within itself and with the human experience) -- based on all my study of it, I just can't believe that the Bible could be anything BUT the very Word of God. And the resurrection of Christ. I suppose everything pretty much hinges on the resurrection of Christ, for it is the resurrection of Christ that brings us the hope of life, and without Him we have nothing.
